Hi! Happy Friday!
This is a short email course on spring cleaning your practice - 5 emails, one every day this week and today is the last one!
We finish with a review of your schedule.
The goal: Create a schedule that works for your life/work balance
The strategy: Review, evaluate and reset
Review how you spent your time in the last month - diary, calendar, planner, booking system etc.
Evaluate and make notes - what worked? what didn’t? how do you feel looking back, and what can you learn?
Reset your schedule - create a schedule that works for you and your life, not simply one where you fit yourself in around other people
Our time and energy are interdependent. Your energy is not unlimited, and we all need plenty of sleep, rest and relaxation time so our practice doesn’t drain us.
An organised schedule helps us have energy for client work and time for our admin so things don’t pile up and overwhelm us.
Here’s what to do.
Think about the different roles you have in your life.
Think about how your energy changes through the week and the month.
Try to ‘theme’ your days to match your energy whenever possible.
For example, I prefer to see clients just two days a week, on a Monday and Tuesday so I can get packages in the post in time to arrive by the weekend.
For some years now, I’ve tried to keep my Sundays simple so I am always well-rested for Monday morning.
As I move through the week, I work on admin and content creation so I can dress more casually and include time for exercise or meeting friends.
Here are some ideas for ways to organise your schedule.
Play around with your schedule using sticky notes or simply pen and paper. 🎨
When you have figured out your preferences, set up your new client times on your booking system. 🗓
Share them in your newsletter and check they are up-to-date on social media, website and Google Business listing. ✅
Block out one week every 6-8 weeks when you don’t see clients. Use this time to catch up with yourself and take some self-care days. 🛀
Make time in your schedule so you can prepare remedies and post them promptly - clients very much appreciate this. 💖
Also, think about your personal time and make space for the things that energise you and help you switch off from work. ✨
Now you’ve created your new schedule, make sure you review it every few months.
Every Friday I do a weekly review, and here’s what I do at the end of each month.
Tips for a monthly review
Look back through your month
Make two lists - 1. What you accomplished 2. What you learned
What would you like to stop doing?
What would you like to start doing?
What would you like to adjust?
Check what you have planned for the month ahead
Write out goals, add things to your to-do list and put dates in your calendar
Check your booking system is set up the way you want it to be, with holidays blocked out etc.
Repeat monthly.
I hope you are inspired to create a schedule that truly supports your homeopathy practice and your work-life balance. ⚖️
This was the last of this one-week email series to support you with spring cleaning your practice! I hope there’s been something here to inspire you. ✨
Please feel free to share any thoughts, ideas or actions. I would love to read them! 🪴
I’ll be back with a regular newsletter with practice reflections and brain food next week.
Have a lovely weekend,

Thank you for the spring cleaning your practice emails this week Tracy, I found the content extremely useful and thought provoking. I have some actions to work on 🙂 Karen Dowding
Tracy, I've just got round to looking at your spring cleaning our practice emails. So useful. Can't thank you enough. Why wasn't I doing this before? Great to have constructive reminders. Just creating Action files in my emails has made me feel more organised. So grateful
