How are you?
I hope you are keeping warm, and that youβre steadily ticking things off your to-do list. β¨
I love so many things about December, the truly dark evenings and sparkling lights, and the chance to get together with friends and family.
At this time of year, I find myself thinking of loved ones who are no longer here, and I know I need to pay attention to my emotional well-being if Iβm going to stay grounded and positive.
Ignatia, Nat Mur and Sepia have all been helpful over the last couple of weeks.
I keep an Ainsworths remedy kit in a drawer in the kitchen, and I just take a couple of remedies in a 30c whenever I feel I need them.
I honestly donβt know how people manage without homeopathy.
If you are new here, welcome! Iβm Tracy, a homeopath in east London. Iβve been in practice for 16 years and have been writing this newsletter since 2015.
Every month I share some practice reflections, together with tips and links to inspire you.
How to prepare for a break π²
Even though Iβve tried not to be too busy in December, it seems an impossible task and the best I can do is make sure Iβm a) organised b) hydrated and c) get enough sleep.
My last day of appointments is Monday 18th and then Iβm going to stay with a friend for a couple of days.
My last day on work email will be Friday 22nd and then Iβm taking a complete break from work for 11 whole days!
Hereβs what Iβm doing to prepare:
A note on the end of my email signature with my holiday dates is there already
A special section in my newsletter with advance notice of holiday dates
Just before the break, I will set up my auto-respond with numbers for Helios and Ainsworths and a link for Homeopathy 247
I will write my happy-new-year newsletter next week, and schedule it to send in early January
I have a separate phone for work so I donβt need to worry about messages or calls when Iβm on a break
My work email is set up on my laptop only, so when I put it away, itβs βout of sight, out of mindβ
Celebrate little things
Making time for personal reflection might not seem that important when many other things are going on, but thatβs what I want to encourage you to do.
A βSmall things to celebrateβ list in my work journal helps me stay positive.
Hereβs whatβs on it so far:
A client from 3 years ago recently got back in touch
A complex case is making good progress with her social anxiety
My first case with βamalgam detoxβ reported an improvement in heavy metal test results
A good chat on the phone with a homeopath friend brightened up my day
I feel positive about a request I said no to
I have so much gratitude and wonder for homeopathy as a support for so many things
I will add to this list whenever I think of something else.
How about you?
However busy you are at this time of year, will you find time to write a list of small things to celebrate in your practice?
