Why newsletters are at the heart of my homeopathy practice 💌
When the pandemic started just over a year ago, I decided to send my practice newsletter weekly instead of fortnightly.
If you don’t already send a newsletter, I recommend you consider starting one.
I always have people write back, and nearly every week, someone books in.
Plus, it’s a creative and joyful practice for me.
It keeps me in touch, it’s something that shows I care, and it works.
That’s why it’s at the 💌 of my marketing strategy.
Every tool in the book
Some of you will know that I tried pretty much every tool in the book to promote my practice after I graduated from CHE in 2007, especially during the first few years.
I’m here to say that all of them worked, at least to a degree.
Here’s a list of some of the things I tried.
Advert in my local NCT quarterly magazine
Workshops on homeopathy for childbirth
Talk for my local Women’s Institute
Information stalls at summer/winter fayres
Therapy swaps with other practitioners
Donations to raffles and auctions
A5 poster pinned on local noticeboards
Fliers in local coffee shops, children’s centres etc.
Listing on Findahomeopath.com
Listing on Therapy Directory
Facebook page (until a few years ago)
Instagram page
There is one main difference between the list of things above and my practice newsletter.
All of the above are/were designed to attract new clients.
My newsletter is designed to maintain contact with past clients.
I want to keep people in touch with me.
And also, to give value, make a contribution.
Love at work
I put a lot of love into my newsletters. (This one, as well as my practice one.)
I take photos, write some personal reflections, share blog posts and links.
It takes time and commitment to do that.
This gives value and shows that I care, and… people tell me they can feel it.
After 14 years in practice I’ve seen hundreds and hundreds of people.
I still see clients who came to see me in the very first year I was in practice.
This makes my work feel more meaningful.
Women who came to see me for UTI or candida ten years ago are back for support through pregnancy.
Women who brought their kids to see me for eczema are back for support with perimenopause.
Women who came to see me for hayfever during pregnancy are bringing their young teens to see me for anxiety about starting secondary school.
The thread that keeps them in touch with me is my newsletter.
If you don’t send a newsletter yet, why not give it a try?
A monthly newsletter is completely manageable and is the best way to show your clients you care.
You can read my tips over in my most recent blog post.

Your free planner for May
The May planner is free to download and the inspirational quote this month is from Sarah Jessica Parker:
“Follow your instincts and do not let other people’s opinion of you become your opinion of yourself.”
I chose this quote as it reminds me to make time for reflection.
It’s a noisy world out there, and it’s hard to know what to think sometimes.
Planning is the only way I make progress on my practice goals and the monthly planner is my accountability partner!
As always, thanks for reading.
If there’s something here that resonates with you, feel free to leave a comment below.
I’ll be back in your inbox in a couple of weeks.
Have a beautiful May bank holiday weekend. 🌸
