Hi, how’s your week been?
Being a homeopath can be such a rollercoaster ride.
It’s great seeing clients, especially when they’re progressing. You can’t beat that feeling like you’re doing good in the world.
But, we are ‘outliers’ as homeopaths, which isn’t necessarily easy at the best of times.
If we are lucky, we have friends and family who ‘get’ homeopathy and don’t think we’re crazy.
This week my mantra has been ‘stay on the train’.
Stay focused.
Post packages.
Send invoices.
Reach out to people I’ve not seen in a while.
Write newsletters.
Plan blog posts.
Rest.
Early nights.
Have down-time.
And, never underestimate the power of homeopathy to change someone’s life.
Signs and symbols
I love taking photos for the newsletter and Radiant Business Instagram!
The one at the top is the first of a new batch that I took this morning.
The objects I arrange for the photograph all symbolise an aspect of homeopathy practice.
Notebook, journal, and note-pad
String, cloth, and bowl
Plant and sea-shells
Can you guess what they mean?
Reply to this newsletter with your ideas about the meaning of any of these.
I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Practice reflections
Where do most of your clients find you?
Are they local or global?
Online consulting allows us to offer homeopathy all over the world, which is amazing.
But… is that suitable for everyone?
Last week I spoke to a 72-year-old woman in north London, seeking help for gastritis.
She had seen two specialists and both confirmed the issue for her.
She already knew that certain foods were a trigger but she hadn’t been able to eliminate her symptoms through diet, and didn’t like taking Gaviscon.
A familiar story to lots of homeopaths, and I could have offered to treat her, but I didn’t.
Why?
She lives in North London, she is in her 70s and I could sense that a face-to-face consultation would be better for her.
What did I do?
I did a Google search for homeopaths in her area and gave her two names to look up and contact.
Also, I asked her why she had contacted me?
She told me that it was because of my reviews.
I explained to her that there were many excellent homeopaths, but they would only have reviews if they asked their clients to leave them on Google, and most homeopaths don’t do that.
She said she was so surprised and that would never have occurred to her.
I received an email from her later that day thanking me kindly and telling me she had been in touch with one of the homeopaths whose name I had given her.
She lives in the same street.
True story.
Do you have a Google my Business listing?
Have you asked your clients to leave you a review?
If you do this consistently, you will see an upturn in enquiries from people who live locally to you.
Promise. :-)
This is called SEO, and it’s one of the topics I talk about in the Radiant Business School, starting at the end of September.
