I hope you had a good start to 2023 and you are getting some blue skies and sunshine, despite the cold. ☀️
Today I’m sharing my January routines that have been helping me to reset after Christmas.
If you are a new reader, welcome!
In this newsletter, you’ll find some reflections on my own practice, dates of webinars in the coming months, plus a few links I hope will inspire you.
Hello January 🧣
My start to the year has seen me working really hard on my routines.
One of my goals this year is to be more active, so I’ve been following Yoga with Adrienne daily, and trying out a new Pilates class on Saturdays.
I’ve also been working on a big ‘digital declutter’ which has been long overdue. More on that another time.
Like most homeopaths, I earned less in December than I do in other months.
That was expected and also ok, as I know that things get back to normal in January.
Plus I have a plan.
January routine 1 📆
The first thing I do at the start of January is sit down with my journal from 2022 and reflect on the previous year.
I write a list of ‘accomplishments’ to remind myself of everything I’ve achieved last year, large or small.
I write out my intentions and goals, and also my word for the year. (My word for this year is FOCUS.)
I write a list of practice-related things that I would like to get done (maybe things I have been avoiding) and pick one or two to prioritise.
The next step is to pull up the calendar.
When are the school holidays? Am I going away? When are the bank holidays and school training days? I put all these dates in my online calendar and update my booking system too.
Then I block out a few days or half days to do the tasks I have decided to do in the next couple of months.
January routine 2 💌
The next thing I do is to send ‘reach out emails’.
These are to clients who fall into one of the following categories:
Long-standing clients, who I’ve not seen for a while.
Recent clients, who are not booked in for a follow-up.
Hay fever clients, who I see every winter for homeopathy to reduce symptoms in the summer.
While I have plenty of bookings already for this month, and some in February, I always want to make sure my clients feel supported and this is why I reach out.
Long-standing clients will often have an appointment or two over the winter and they are always pleased to hear from me.
Recent clients need to stay on track with their course of treatment.
Hay fever clients know they have a far better allergy season with minimal symptoms when they see me during the winter.
If you don’t routinely send ‘reach out’ emails to clients, I really recommend you try it, especially if your practice isn’t yet as busy as you would like it to be.
Note: the emails are not intended to push people into booking. They are more of a hello and getting the conversation going.
Here’s what I write in the email
Subject header: Hello from Tracy
Email content:
Hi ____,
I hope this finds you well.
Happy new year!
I wanted to check in as it has been a while since we have been in touch.
I would love to hear back from you when you have time.
Kind regards,
Tracy
With long-standing clients I would add an extra sentence:
Let me know if you would like me to send you some times for a homeopathy session sometime in the next month or so.
With hay fever clients I add in:
This is a good time to think about homeopathy before the hay fever season gets started. Here are some possible dates and times that I hope will work for you.
What are your January routines?
Please do share, and I promise to reply to every comment.
