Hi!
How are things?
My 12-year old has had a cold this week.
My husband and I have been feeling some signs of the onset of a cold.
So… we’re all on Narayani Cold remedy, plus Homeobotanicals for immunity and having early nights.
I looked up Coronavirus in Monera by Frans Vermeulen and discovered that he describes it as a winter cold virus whereas the Rhinovirus is more typically autumnal.
This led me down the internet rabbit-hole where I found this interesting article in NCBI.
Speaking of the pandemic (who isn’t?) the ARH journal arrived on my doorstep last week, with the whole issue dedicated to Coronavirus-19.
There are articles by David Needleman (Homeopathic helpline), Tony Pinkus (Ainsworths), the Joshis (Data on Covid-19 treatments in India), plus excellent articles by Carol Boyce, Rix Pyke, Jo Ketteman and many others, including me. :-)
It was a reassuring read. Many of the articles are Part 1, with Part 2 to follow. I look forward to the next edition.

Practice reflections
My friend Emily Quinton recommended I read Lazy Genius by Kendra Adachi.
It was one of those books that feels motivating and kind. It’s mainly about home organisation but I found myself thinking about how it would apply to my practice.
Kendra explains 13 principles on which to build systems based on what is important to you.
I laughed out loud when I read her take on simpliflying.
Kendra says that simplifying sounds easy, but is very, very hard to implement.
“Do less, have less, be on social media less.”
This sounds completely do-able until you consider all the other conflicting advice.
In the world of homeopathy practice-building, conflicting advice might look like this.
Simplify…
BUT also…
Be a better homeopath
(purchase courses, books, remedies, machines, software and diagnostic tools)Be reachable
(respond to texts, WhatsApp, messenger, email)Be flexible
(arrange your life around your clients and hope they don’t text you last minute to rearrange)Encourage ‘word-of-mouth’ referrals
(then tie yourself up in knots trying to decide what to say when friends/family/colleagues ask what you ‘recommend’ for: eczema, constipation, nightmares, migraines etc.)Be great on social media
(share posts/stories on Instagram, Facebook, host your own group (and schedule posts daily), be a valuable contributor in other groups, teach free courses etc.)
I’m exhausted just writing this list!
Back to Lazy Genius.
Instead, Kendra Adachi suggests we set up filters so we start with what’s important to us, and ignore anything that doesn’t work with that.
What does this mean for homeopaths?
Create a practice focused on what matters to you, not what everyone says should matter.
What could this look like?
Simplify…
AND
Trust homeopathy
(get good at the basics)Set boundaries
(have one line of communication)Have a schedule
(be available two days, include one evening if you can)Learn about SEO
(ask clients for Google reviews)Be good somewhere, not everywhere
(Instagram or Facebook or Newsletters or even Twitter)
