How are you?
I hope you are keeping warm, and that youβre steadily ticking things off your to-do list. β¨
I love so many things about December, the truly dark evenings and sparkling lights, and the chance to get together with friends and family.
Before we end the year I have one last homeopathy webinar to share with you: Homeopathy and Counselling Skills for Grief and Loss. ποΈ
If you havenβt got round to signing up yet, itβs not too late to join.
If youβre a student or a recent graduate you should have a discount code β please reply to this email if you donβt have it.
If you are new here, welcome! Iβm Tracy, a homeopath in east London. Iβve been in practice for 17 years and have been writing this newsletter since 2015.
Every month I share some practice reflections, together with tips and links to inspire you.
How to prepare for a break π²
Even though Iβve tried not to have too many things happening in December, it seems an impossible task and the best I can do is make sure Iβm a) organised b) hydrated and c) get enough sleep.
My last day of appointments is Monday 23rd and then Iβm taking a complete break from work for 13 whole days!
Hereβs what Iβm doing to prepare:
A note on the end of my email signature with my holiday dates is there already
A special section in my newsletter with advance notice of holiday dates
Just before the break, I will set up my auto-respond with numbers for Helios and Ainsworths and links for Homeopathy 247 and Swift
I will write my happy-new-year newsletter next week, and schedule it to send in early January
I have a separate phone for work so I donβt need to worry about messages or calls when Iβm on a break
My work email is set up on my laptop only, so when I put it away, itβs βout of sight, out of mindβ
My βnew enquiries formβ will have new dates for a discovery call in January, and will say when they can expect the call to be confirmed
Celebrate little things π
Making time for personal reflection might not seem that important when many other things are going on, but thatβs what I want to encourage you to do.
A simple way to end the year is to follow these two steps:
Clear space
Celebrate wins
Clear space means: unsubscribe, cancel subscriptions that you donβt use, clear clutter, simplify wherever you can.
Celebrate wins means: make a list of all your wins from the last year. Big, tiny, professional, personal, financial.
An ongoing βSmall things to celebrateβ list in your journal helps you feel positive all year round.
Hereβs whatβs on my list so far:
A client from a couple of years ago recently got back in touch
A complex case is making good progress
Two cases of PMDD are so much better!
A good chat on the phone with a homeopath friend brightened up my day
I feel positive about a request I said no to
I have so much gratitude and wonder for homeopathy as a support for so many things
I will add to this list whenever I think of something else.
If you want to go deeper, I recommend Susannah Conwayβs βUnravel Your Yearβ or Year Compass.
In case you are wondering, Iβve completed both of the above for several years and I really like them. How about you?
Can you find time to write a list of small things to celebrate in your practice?
Feel free to share in the comments below.
2-minute survey! π³οΈ
Can you spare a couple of minutes to vote on the webinars you would like me to offer next year?
The survey is anonymous, but you have the option to share your email address if you would like to have the chance to win a free mentoring session.
Brain food β¨
New Amsterdam β my current favourite on Netflix, an emotionally intelligent hospital drama
The book I finally got round to reading β Profit First for Therapists
High expectations can help you find more joy - something to try
Checklist to help you finish what you started β Iβm using this to help me focus
Homeopathy and counselling skills for grief and loss β tomorrow Friday 6th December
Thank you for reading.
Please take a minute to complete the survey, I will be so grateful!
Iβll be back in your inbox at the end of December with a round-up of the best links from 2024.
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas if you are celebrating. π²
